Smelly Jobs
Do you have a strong stomach? We have one time, and routine
tasks that are just kind of smelly. Cleaning out the grease trap in
the kitchen, emptying the compost buckets and bin, septic tank
inspections and cleaning all the goo out refuse cans and
dumpsters around campus. Help us start smelling better!
Base Inspection Pictures
Help us take pictures around campus. Each interior space is
documented with four pictures. Exterior buildings get a photo
shoot with eight different views. Its even helpful to have pictures
of fences, signs, and a variety of other features around campus.
We’ll get you set up, then you take the pictures and organize
them into our file structure. This will help staff save a considerable
amount of time.
Screen Repair
There are always window and door screens to repair. You can
take them home with you or work on them at camp. We will
remove the damaged screen, install new screen and spine, and
fit back into the opening. With hundreds of windows there will
always be a few needing a fix!
Upcycle Stuff
Old bed frames, fence posts, stuff we found in the nooks and
crannies. There’s lots of usable stuff, help us get organized so we
can upcycle into something useful. Cutting apart old bed frames
is an easy way to produce light duty steel angle that can then
be used to complete other projects.
Vacuum Maintenance
There are many upright and canister vacuums around campus,
there’s even one for the pool! Help us out by collecting them all,
cleaning them, changing bags and filters, and completing
preventative maintenance like replacing belts. This could be a
routine task each month, or you could come do them all at
once a year, vacuum extravaganza, come see if it sucks or not.
